Just a few Christmas Photos

Just a few christmas photos. we had a hard time feeling festive this year, so we didnt get to many before big day.
This was our first Xmas at our new home, with a new tree and everything. hmmm i guess somewhere we felt a lil festive.
The blur.... that buds never sits still.

But he knows what Santa says.

Santa brought me something awesome

The Hubbs bought me a fancy shmancy camera. I ve always wanted to do photography. its been on the back burner for a loooong time. Gave it a go in high school but i can never stick to one thing. high school was a long time ago, I know.
Im just saying, the idea has always been there. I also was really into sewing then too.. Accidentally cut a long lock of hair off when i was cutting some thread from the machine..never mind that, back to the point.
The camera is awesome. Ive been looking at photography blogs and im just so excited! I need lessons. I wanna carry this thing everywhere. Ive been lugging it to paydates pretending like I'm awesome at it..
My gift came early, here are some photos that were taken with it.

The Schwinn Romper Grosgrain Giveaway

The Schwinn Romper Grosgrain Giveaway

Another summer dress/top

Love these dresses.Flouncy Dress@ tiedyediva Easy yes, but  a lil time consuming because there are so many parts. Plus i make my own bias tape for them. I like my bias tape maker alot. Its fun to have the actual fabrics you are working with as a bias tape instead of just solid colors. However, it takes more time. Whatevs, i usually feel pretty good about the finished product and it makes me proud of myself! hehe. I think now i need to try ruffled bloomers with a matching hat. I suppose I will just make them if they are requested. This one I finished today is size 2t.

And yes it is for sale! My girlie is bigger than that now. ( sad face)

Housewife Head Wrap

Thats what I think these should be called. If only I were able to get a better picture of someone wearing one , you would totally see what I mean. Especially when wearing a dress. I love them. Works great for a bad hair day, or growing out yer locks!
My grandmother had given a bunch of old fabric scraps, bias tape and just all kinds of stuff. I found this pretty silk head scarf in there. I loved it but it was a bit big. I thought if I could take it apart I could adjust the size and do it. I was so scared to mess that thing up, but it worked and easy peasy. I did it!

Also made a lil girls one  ( hmm cant find an image, perhaps cuz my lil girl wore hers for about a minute. not long enough to get a pic I guess)

And a baby bonnet. So cute!

GOLLY JEEPERS I DID IT,I DID IT

I manage to make a dress. I never thought I would be able to. Found a wonderful pattern from these ladies and i did it. I had a lil different idea, to make my straps tie instead and i opted to hem the bottom instead of do the bias tape. Whatevs. I always have so many ideas of variations when i get to making something. So i think these are the next things i will be working on to sell. I think i will start with shirts though.. or who knows... i'm wild and crazy like that..

so here it is, I made this one a bit big for Nai. I went with the bigger size because sometimes even 4t doesnt fit right and ya never know.. but bigger is better for room to grow..
The 2 pieces ( front and back)

and TADA!

OOPsy forgot

I forgot to mention these dudes at Fuzzy Ink, all of the shirt has moustaches on them and they are great. Picked this  one up for the hubby!

Renegade Craft fair was a blast

I went by myself, sans kiddos. I wanted to be able to really look.
These guys were there and they are awesome. I want this to be at my house for all birthday parties. Friends werent there yet so I took pics by my lonesome.. Whatevs I like pics!

Anyhoo, I finally got to meet Veronica that runs our sewing meetup group. Sewful Austin. She mentioned everyone sharing a booth, next go round. I think that sounds fantastic! How exciting!

I better to get back to the kidos. Time to make the doughnuts. Well not totally, the baby is not having doughnuts for dinner.

AND ANOTHER...

I love em! This was my facebook giveaway.

Spongebob Project

I myself am not a fan of mr.bob. Although I'm not sure how it came about, Anaiah is a huge fan these days. I looked for a tute that at least sorta resembles the idea I had in mind. No luck. So we had a iron she liked, bought a shirt and I went to work.It looked a lil something like this.
tshirt

snip and add some bias tape(love my bias tape maker)
                              almost

added the skirt and there ya go..
it turned out ok but it was a disaster to me.. i just wanted to be done.. but i have learned something im sure and chances are ill have an aha moment next time.
